As a 0.91 Firefox fan i got involved in spreadfirefox a while back (approximately 5 years back). The site was buzzing with ideas and blogs, but had little focus on the concept of getting ideas to real projects, although some brilliant ones (no not mine ;o) got started there, such as portible apps, stumble upon, dynamic banners, etc…
The site needed a revamp and Ian Hayward and his team at glaxstar.com initiated a great 2 year discussion on how to harness the shear volume of users to get this idea going:
The site had another great update after that and it is a great celebration of how Drupal can generate so many strong and brilliant marketing ideas on how to spreadfirefox. On its tail was spreadthunderbird, spreadfennec and others born.
If you feel the need to tell others about the greatness of Firefox or related Mozilla products, spreadfirefox is the place to start looking for projects near you or to create you own.
